Seed Testing

Seed quality tests are performed to assess the quality level of domestically produced or imported seeds and their quality compliance with national standards. If the quality level of the analyzed seeds is in line with or higher than the national seed standards, the necessary certificate will be issued for the installation of the certification label or customs clearance. For test of germination, physical purity, other seed count and seed moisture are performed for seed lots. Seed health tests are also performed in special circumstances and on the recommendation of the field inspector. Seed quality test as well as seed health tests are performed according to standards protocols provided by International Seed Testing Association (ISTA). Central seed testing laboratories of SPCRI is accredited by ISTA.
